Puffed Rice Mint Baath

Being light and low on calories, puffed rice is an ideal option for people on a weight loss regimen. If you want a change from the usual murmura baath try this mint flavored breath.


  • Puffed rice – 4 cups
  • Fresh mint leaves – 1 cup
  • Onion – 1 big sized
  • Tomato finely chopped – ½ cup
  • Green chillies split – 4
  • Cashew nuts – 10
  • Cumin seeds – ½ tsp
  • Turmeric powder – a big pinch
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil – 1 tbsp


  • Soak the puffed rice in water for a min and drain it. Set aside
  • Grind the fresh mint leaves into a coarse paste and set aside.
  • Heat oil in a kadhai, add the cumin seeds and let it splutter.
  • Add the split green chillies and cashew nuts. Saute well for a min.
  • Add the chopped onion and saute well.
  • Add chopped tomato, mint paste and turmeric powder. Saute well till the tomato turns mushy.
  • Add the soaked puffed rice and salt. Mix well.
  • Serve hot.
