Besan Bhindi Dry Sabzi

Besan Bhindi Dry Sabzi – is a dry side dish of okra cooked with chickpea flour. It is easy to prepare and tastes delicious


  • Ladies finger – ¼ kg
  • Gram flour – 2 tsp
  • Garlic cloves – 4
  • Green chillies – 2
  • Mustard seeds – ¼ tsp
  • Cumin seeds – ½ tsp
  • Red chilli powder – ½ tsp
  • Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
  • Coriander powder – 1 tsp
  • Garam masala – ¼ tsp
  • Lemon juice – 1 tsp
  • Coriander leaves, finely chopped – 2 tsp
  • Salt as required
  • Oil – 4 tsp


  • Heat 1 tsp of oil in a pan. Add the gram flour, stir well on low flame for 2 mins. Transfer it into a plate and set aside.
  • Heat 3 tsp of oil in a pan. Add the chopped garlic and saute well till light brown.
  • Add mustard seeds and cumin seeds and let them splutter.
  • Add chopped green chillies and lady fingers. Saute well on medium flame.
  • Add salt, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, garam masala and lemon juice. Mix well so that the lady fingers are well coated with the spices.  Cook for 3-4 mins stirring in between.
  • Add the roasted gram flour and mix well till the lady fingers are well coated. Cover and cook on low flame for 4-5 mins. Stir in between.
  • Serve hot.
