Green Peas Pancake

A spongy pancake made with moong dal, green peas, onion, ginger and coriander. The green peas – moong dal combination helps to enhance the fiber and protein content.


  • 1 cup yellow moong dal
  • 1 cup green peas
  • 1.5 tsp chopped green chillies
  • 1 tsp grated ginger
  • 1 tbsp chopped coriander leaves
  • ½ cup finely chopped onion
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil – for roasting


  • Soak 1 cup of yellow moong dal for 30 mins.
  • In a mixer jar, add soaked moong dal, green peas, green chillies, coriander leaves and ginger. Blend well adding a little water to make a thick batter.
  • Transfer the batter into a mixing bowl. Add the onions and salt and mix well.
  • Heat a tawa and grease it with a little oil.
  • Pour the batter and spread into a circle. Roast it with a little oil. Flip and roast the other side.
  • Serve hot.
